Why Saigon destroys sneakers (and what we do about it)
Three things make Saigon brutal on sneakers:
- Street dust + grime: HCMC sidewalks and motorbike-heavy streets coat shoes in a fine grey-brown layer that doesn't brush off
- 80%+ humidity: sweat absorption in shoes is constant, leading to interior smell and mildew
- Tropical sun yellowing: UV exposure yellows clear/translucent sneaker soles (Jordan 1, Air Max, Stan Smith) within weeks
Throwing sneakers in a regular washing machine doesn't fix this — and often makes it worse (cracks midsole foam, deforms phylon, ruins leather). We clean them by hand using specialty products + tools.

The cleaning process (specific to sneakers)
- Initial inspection + photo: we photograph the shoes on intake to track condition
- Loose dirt removal: stiff bristle brush, compressed air for crevices
- Mid-sole cleaning: magic eraser + specialty foam cleaner; restores white midsoles to off-the-shelf condition
- Upper cleaning (varies by material):
- Mesh / synthetic: foam cleaner + soft toothbrush, microfiber wipe-down
- Leather: leather-specific cleaner, conditioner, gentle polish
- Suede: suede brush + specialty cleaner, no water immersion
- Canvas: gentle scrub with mild detergent, thorough rinse
- Laces cleaning: removed, washed separately, replaced when dry
- Insole treatment: deodorizer + mild antibacterial treatment for interior
- Sole yellowing: UV-treatment chemical bath (add-on, +50k)
- Drying: shoe trees inserted to preserve shape, room-temperature air dry (no sun, no heat)
- Final polish + waterproofing (optional add-on for leather): conditioning + sealing
- Delivery: paired in original-style boxes (we have spare boxes if yours is gone) and returned to your hotel
Real before-and-after expectations
White Jordan 1 / Air Force 1 (badly worn)
Restoration: 80-95% of original whiteness restored. Yellowed soles fixed via UV-treatment (+50k). Visible scuffs reduced 70-80%. Worn-in creases unchanged (those are structural).
Yeezy 350 (any colorway)
Mesh upper restored 90%+. Boost midsole cleaned, lifted from grey to off-white. Note: Yeezy white colorways are extremely hard to restore to original — about 80%, never 100%. Black/dark colorways are easier.
Suede sneakers (Samba, Puma Suede, etc.)
Suede cannot be water-cleaned. We use suede-specific dry brush + specialty cleaner. Removes 70-85% of dirt; deep stains may remain. Color enhancement available via suede dye (+50k for full re-color).
Leather sneakers
Leather cleans well — 90-95% restoration typical. Conditioning included. Severely cracked leather can't be fully fixed but we minimize visibility.
Mesh runners
Mesh is forgiving — 95% restoration typical. The bigger issue is interior odor (sweat absorption); our deodorizer treatment handles 80-90% of smell.
White soles that have yellowed
UV-yellowing on translucent/clear soles is reversible via chemical treatment. Add 50,000đ to your order. Results: 85-95% of original whiteness. Permanent re-yellowing happens slowly (1-3 months) due to continued UV exposure.
What we won't do
- Machine wash sneakers: ever. Hand-clean only.
- Use bleach on white sneakers: bleach yellows fabric over time. We use safer alternatives.
- Re-color severely stained sneakers: we don't paint over heavy stains; we clean. For re-coloring specifically, separate service (rare).
- Promise 100% restoration on rare/aged sneakers: 10-year-old shoes have structural issues no cleaning fixes

Yes — suede-specific dry process. Don't risk water on suede. Cost: 150k. Results: ~75-85% restoration depending on stain age.
