Da Nang is an easy city to live in and an easier one to visit, but laundry still eats time: hauling bags in beach heat, guessing which shop takes care of your clothes, and in the rainy months, waiting days for anything to dry. This guide covers what laundry actually costs in Da Nang in 2026 and which option fits your situation.
Your Four Options in Da Nang
1. Local laundry shops (giặt ủi)
Every residential block in Hai Chau, Thanh Khe and Son Tra has small family-run laundry shops. Typical pricing runs 15,000 to 25,000 VND per kg, usually with a 1-2 day turnaround. Quality is generally fine for everyday clothes, but machines are shared across customers, opening hours are short, and most shops close for holidays exactly when you need them.
2. Hotel laundry
Convenient but priced per item: a shirt often costs 30,000-60,000 VND on a hotel laundry sheet, so a small bag of clothes can cost more than a nice dinner. Sensible for one urgent shirt, painful for a week of laundry.
3. Self-service washers
Coin-style self-service laundries cluster around the tourist streets of An Thuong and My Khe. A wash plus dry typically runs 50,000-90,000 VND per machine load, and you stay with your laundry for roughly two hours. Fine on a lazy day; frustrating in peak season when every machine is taken by 6pm.
4. Pickup and delivery laundry
The option most expats in Ho Chi Minh City switched to years ago: book online, a driver collects the bag at your door, everything comes back washed, dried and folded. You pay by weight and never leave your room.
Giặt Ơi! Launches in Da Nang on 21 September 2026
Giặt Ơi! runs door-to-door laundry every day across Ho Chi Minh City, and the same service opens in Da Nang on 21 September 2026. The model does not change: free pickup and delivery, flat per-kg pricing with no hidden fees, wash and dry back the same day, and an order link that lets you track every step. As a reference, HCMC pricing is 30,000 VND/kg for the 24-hour service and 50,000 VND/kg for 4-hour express; official Da Nang pricing will be published at launch.
The launch coverage area spans the city core: Hai Chau, Son Tra, the My Khe beach strip, An Thuong and beyond. See the full list on the Giặt Ơi! Da Nang page.
Which Option Should You Pick?
Staying one or two nights with a light bag: your hotel or the nearest shop is fine. Staying a week or longer, working remotely from An Thuong, or living in a Son Tra apartment without a machine: pickup laundry wins on time alone, because two hours at a laundromat is two hours you did not spend at the beach. And in the October-December rainy season, machine drying stops being a preference and becomes the only way clothes actually get dry.
One Warning About Rainy Season
From October to December, Da Nang gets some of the heaviest rain in Vietnam. Air-drying indoors takes days and often leaves a damp smell in the fabric. Whatever laundry option you choose in those months, make sure it includes proper machine drying. Your future self, opening the wardrobe to a dry towel, will thank you.
